Simon's Camping Theme First Birthday Party

My little mister Simon turned one on May 21st! He is such an amazing little babe, he needs to stop growing so fast though! Bah. I decided to do a camping theme for his party, and I love how it turned out. Here are some pictures from the party, enjoy and be inspired. This party was a lot of work, but I actually had a lot of fun getting everything ready and putting it all together.

Here is the three layer cake I came up with. I made the little tent out of fabric and little wooden sticks using hot glue. I bought the little lamp at Hobby Lobby in the little dollhouse section. It is my favorite piece! Also on the cake are kit kat campfire logs with melted red and yellow candies for the flames. The campfire sitting logs are tootsie rolls, and sitting on those are two toothpicks with mini marshmallows.

 "Matches" with pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and red sprinkles

 "Acorns" and "Sticks" Acorns made with mini vanilla waffers, melted chocolate bark, and peanut butter morsals.

 "Don't Feed the Bears" mix with variety teddy grahams, mini marshmallows, and peanut butter morsals.

 "Bear Poop" with whoppers

We also had a few water activities and small pool set up for the kids, as well as a little bounce house that was a huge hit! We had a lot of fun with family and friends. We are so thankful to everyone who showed up and was a part of the party! We had a blast eating food, playing yard games, and playing in the kiddie pool!

Hi guys! This is going to be a quick post, due to the fact that it's 10:00pm, both kids are asleep and I should be asleep too. I also have an announcement to make, sadly, this will be our last WWEW Link Party. We have decided it would be best to step away from the party at this time. Weekend Happenings: Kayla

We had such a fun and busy weekend. We had a full house, too! My sister was in town with her husband and son, our friend Seth and his son, as well as my brother. Our couches were full, and bedrooms packed. It was so good to see some of my family. I love when Addie and Caden get to play together too, I remember having so much fun with my cousins when I was little. Addie just adores her big cousin Caden. She wants to do everything he does, and really just follow him everywhere.

The weather here has been so nice, it was in the high 80's / low 90's all weekend. The kids spent most of their time outside in the kiddie pool and spraying each other with the hose. We managed to have two barbecues, and stuff our faces with way too much junk food. Oddly enough, I think Simon was the most well-bahaved all weekend. Addie and Caden did pretty good too, but were WAY too busy and had hardly enough naps. 

Overall, it was a great weekend, I think the biggest conclusion from the past few days is that someone on this orchard needs a pool! :) What was the best part of your 4th of July weekend? Comment below!
