A Mother's Prayer - FREE PRINTABLE

FREE PRINTABLE from www.orchardgirls.blogspot.com

Being a Mother is amazing! But lets get real for a quick minute. Being a Mother is a tough gig. We always want to do what is best for our kiddos, but its hard to always know what the "best" thing is. I am constantly seeking guidance from God, through prayer. After a long day of me struggling with patience, I happened to find this prayer in a book called Ascetic Lives of Mothers. Motherhood has its challenges, its joys, and its potential for spiritual growth. Having this prayer printed out, and framed is a constant reminder to pray for guidance and patience through the daily struggles of motherhood. I hope it can do the same for you! Feel free to download our FREE printable of A Mother's Prayer. We have this printable available in size 5x7 OR 8x10. Click below to download your copy!
Here is what the prayer says...

Dearest Lord Jesus,

Show me how to be a loving mother to my children. You know the desire of my heart is to mother my children in a way that will draw them to You. Forgive my shortcomings and help me not to sink into despair, but to rise up in faith with the knowledge that Your holy power is strong enough to sustain me and guide me to be the mother my children need. Help me to be slow to speak, quick to listen, and quick to forgive my children of their faults. Grant me Your vision for my children that I may know how to train, encourage, and pray for them. For you are holy, now and ever unto ages of ages. Amen

Simon's Camping Theme First Birthday Party

Camping Theme Party Ideas by Orchard Girls Blog
My little mister Simon turned one on May 21st! He is such an amazing little babe, he needs to stop growing so fast though! Bah. I decided to do a camping theme for his party, and I love how it turned out. Here are some pictures from the party, enjoy and be inspired. This party was a lot of work, but I actually had a lot of fun getting everything ready and putting it all together.

Here is the three layer cake I came up with. I made the little tent out of fabric and little wooden sticks using hot glue. I bought the little lamp at Hobby Lobby in the little dollhouse section. It is my favorite piece! Also on the cake are kit kat campfire logs with melted red and yellow candies for the flames. The campfire sitting logs are tootsie rolls, and sitting on those are two toothpicks with mini marshmallows.

We also had a few water activities and small pool set up for the kids, as well as a little bounce house that was a huge hit! We had a lot of fun with family and friends. We are so thankful to everyone who showed up and was a part of the party! We had a blast eating food, playing yard games, and playing in the kiddie pool!

Good morning everyone! I just have a quick post today, I wanted to give you these FREE fun watercolor motivational prints. I put the fonts together and added a watercolor background effect. The circle leaf graphic was downloaded from one of my favorite blogs We Lived Happily Ever After. I am working on making a little sewing/office area for myself and came up with this, to print out and hang up. I'm still working on more designs and prints, but was excited to share this one. I want this area to be an organized and positive space I can be inspired by. Stay tuned for more prints and a post on my completed sewing/office area!
Here are a few examples of what you could do with these PNG image files.

DIY "Be Adventurous" Nursery Art

I was looking to come up with a few more things to hang in Simon's nursery, but nursery art from the store can be SO expensive. Which is when I decided to come up with this easy and cute DIY nursery art. It isn't perfect, but I love how it turned out and it was fun to make!
Supplies:
-One black poster board (the thicker hard board kind) ($2.00)
-White chalkboard marker (Already had)
- Two frames ($2.00/each)
-Box cutter (or something to cut the black poster board) (already had)
Depending on what size frame you use, cut your board to that size. Using the white chalkboard marker write out your words, and draw your design (I used pencil for this first). Put the board in the frame. There wasn't enough room for the board and the glass in my frames, so I just took the glass out.
That's it! Easy, and inexpensive nursery art, made by YOU! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by our blog. We appreciate all of our readers, and are so grateful to you. If this is your first time to our blog feel free to follow along with us on FACEBOOK, PINTEREST, TWITTER, OR INSTAGRAM (KAYLA) (KENZIE)

Christmas Decorating + Kid's Festive Breakfast Shenanigans

We were busy getting into the Christmas spirit at our house this past weekend. Daniel went out and picked out our tree, then Addie and I decorated it. She didn't quite grasp the whole hanging ornaments on the branches, and more so just plopped them on the tree, but it was cute to see her try. I also hung our stockings and set out a few more decorations.
We don't have an actual fireplace, so I hung them on our DIY Apple crate bookshelf!
My little Christmas decorating helper wearing her
"Bedhead, graphic tee, sippy cup, LET'S DO THIS!" Tee from Shop Jumping Jack
We decided to make some Christmas breakfast, too! Here is what we came up with...
Fun Kid's Christmas Breakfast Ideas - Reindeer Pancakes
We had fun making rudolf/reindeer pancakes the other morning! They are super easy to make and festive, too! I just used frozen mini pancakes, cooked bacon, decorative candy eyeballs, and cut up a strawberry for Rudolph's nose! They turned out pretty cute.
Fun Kid's Christmas Breakfast Ideas - Snowman Pancakes
We made a little pancake snowman, too. For him we used frozen pancakes, bacon for arms, decorative candy eyeballs, whipped cream for snow and a scarf, a strawberry for a hat, and chocolate chips for buttons!
I have seen so many other creative breakfast ideas on pinterest, I just never remember to try them out. Not to mention, its usually early, and im not much of a morning person! Haha. Thanks for stopping by! Do you and your family have any particular Christmas decorating traditions? I'd love to hear about them, comment below :)
