So, here is what you will need:
-4 chicken breasts
-rolls or buns (I used hawaiian sweet rolls)
-1 cup bbq sauce (Whatever kind your prefer will do. When we lived in NC, we used to mix half tomato based bbq sauce & half vinegar based bbq sauce-- it was amazing!)
-1/2 cup italian dressing
-1 Tbs worcestershire sauce
-1 Tbs onion flakes
-2 heaping Tbs brown sugar
-(optional) pineapple rings
For the "bun sauce" (which I will tell you about in a minute!)
-1/4 melted butter
-1 Tbs onion flakes
-1/2 Tbs worcestershire sauce
Directions:
1. Put your chicken breasts in the crockpot.
2. Mix your bbq sauce, italian dressing, worcestershire sauce, onion flakes, and brown sugar up. Pour over your chicken.
does touching raw chicken gross anyone else out? ew. |
4. After your 3 hours has passed, remove chicken from crockpot and shred with 2 forks.
5. Place all of your shredded chicken back into the crockpot for another hour on high. If your sauce is looking runny, don't worry. The chicken soaks it up after it has been shredded.
6. While your chicken is finishing up, get out your rolls and turn your oven on to 350 degrees.
7. Make your bun sauce. Melt your butter, mix in the onion flakes and worcestershire sauce.
8. Brush it on the tops of your buns, and put in the oven for about 10 minutes.
9. Serve your bbq shredded chicken on your now warm and saucy buns ;) Enjoy!
