DIY: Oil Drip Pan Magnet Board for Kids

Good Morning! Earlier this week I finished this pinterest project that I've really excited about doing! This project was super easy and pretty inexpensive.
Keep reading to see what you'll need and where you can find it.

What you'll need:
-Oil Drip Pan
These can be found at any automotive store. I found mine at Walmart for $12, in the automotive section on the bottom shelf.

-Fun magnet shapes
I bought a pack of foam alphabet letters for $4 in the kids section
I also purchased the animal/color puzzles $3 for all three.
-Roll Strip of Magnet
Found this in the craft section at Walmart. I just cut tiny strips and put one on the back of each letter/puzzle (this was the most tedious part) You could just as easily purchase letter with magnets already on the back of them. (I just couldn't find them at the store and didn't want to wait. Lol.)
-4 Sticky Velcro Strips
I found these by the picture hanging section. I put one in each corner and stuck it on the wall. (that way you don't have to worry about damaging your wall. The pan itself is actually pretty light, so I'm not worried about it falling.
And here is how it turned out!

Thank you for stopping by to check this fun project out! Adeline loved knocking the letters off the most, but even just the next day she has already mastered sticking them back on the board. As she gets older, I think this will be a great tool for learning letters/numbers. Let us know what you think! Do you know any other fun projects like this I should try? Have a wonderful weekend - Enjoy the superbowl, oh and of course, GO SEAHAWKS!! :)

  1. I love your idea:-)
The little princess is a doll:-)
We made a magnetic board at home as well, but we used magnetic paint https://www.magnet-shop.com/living/magnetic-paint/2207/magnet-paint instead of the oil paint and we used the wall directly.
I bought funny and cute magnets aswell as ABC and Numbers.
