Inexpensive Christmas Gifts: Painted Tea Towels

Hey everyone! I thought it would be a good idea to start a series of posts with ideas for inexpensive homemade Christmas gifts. I know we will be going the homemade route this year, so I'm guessing there are other people out there, too!

I had the thought of making some hand painted kitchen towels. I just knew that someone else had to have already tried it, so I searched pinterest. I found several really cute tutorials, so I thought I'd share them with you.

First is a tutorial from Julie Blanner. I really love how clean, simple and cute these are.
Next are some more metallic painted towels from Design, Dining, and Diapers. I like the idea of doing snowflakes. They would be easily freehanded, since no snowflake is the same!
Here's an idea from Martha Stewart. You could easily make monogrammed towels. They're cute and personalized. Plus, they could be used year round.
Then there's this awesome tutorial from Centsational Girl. How easy would it be to stamp towels? You could come up with so many patterns. Or just make monogramming your towels that much easier.
And last but not least is a super helpful post from Darling Magazine. I like all of the tips in this post. I might try the "water color" effect.
And there you have it! I'd post about the towels I might make, but that would be giving a secret away to any family members/friends reading this post. :) I do intend on giving this a go, even just for myself.

I hope you all are having a great week so far! Be sure to check out Kayla's Osh Kosh post she did yesterday. It has a coupon code and really adorable outfit ideas.

Talk to you all soon,
Check out the parties we link to!
