How to: Thrift Store Picture Redo!

I love finding pictures at thrift stores. Unfortunately, sometimes the pictures are outdated, and not quite the look that I am going for. However, don't let that force you to put the picture back on the shelf! I've found that in most cases you can redo/upcycle the picture or frame. In this case, I am going to show you how I redid a picture that is professionally done (with the back covered). I use to pass up these finds, because I couldn't change out the picture. Not no mo! :)

Okay here is the picture that I found at the thrift store - now, I instantly fell in love with the frame of this picture. I didn't like the picture inside that much, but I thought I will have to figure something out (just so I can use this frame)!

I decided to use, this frame, some burlap, mod podge, and an old apple label! 

First, I cut three burlap strips to the length of the photo. Next I applied mod podge with a sponge brush to the actual photo, and a little to the burlap strips. Then, stuck them onto the picture, like so...

I put the last strip on, and then used more mod podge to apply the old apple label! I am planning on making a gallery wall full of old apple labels and other various vintage finds. Hopefully soon :) Anyway, here is how it turned out.
