Happy Thursday! How is everyone? It has been a little drizzly here the last couple of days, so I took advantage of some sunshine yesterday afternoon. I wanted to do something with this oval picture and frame I bought at Goodwill. I believe I only paid 2 bucks for it, but its gold frame and print just wasn't doing it for me. I decided to try to make something with our last name initial. First, I picked a nice spot in my yard to work.
Then I pulled out everything I thought I would need.

Spray paint, flattened box, tape, scissors, printed initial |
All I did was print out an initial outline on regular paper (cardstock would be better), cut it out and taped it onto my picture. I decided that I wanted the original picture coming through the initial, so I left it as is. You could easily paint over the picture, wait for it to dry, and do this same thing. You could even just freehand a letter after you've spray painted.
I already like it so much more! I'm not sure if I will leave it the way it is, or end up painting the canvas part a different color than the white frame. We shall see. For now, I'm enjoying it the way it is.
For 2 dollars, plus random things I already had on hand, I'd say this was a pretty successful Thrifty Thursday!
Thank you so much for coming by our blog and supporting us. It has been such a joy to share projects and recipes with you guys.
Talk to you all again on Monday (have a lovely weekend!),
So, I was just reading through your blog and found this post. I literally have that exact same picture and frame. I just pulled up my picture on my phone to double check and yep. It's the same! I spray painted it last night and am posting my craft on my blog tomorrow (6/13/13). I think I paid $2 for it at a garage sale. Haha. This is too crazy. You should check it out at itfreezesbeautifully.blogspot.com ....tomorrow.
